Where to Go
As the years go on, more and more people are touring Australia in their caravans and camper trailers. On this page, we have included some places to go on a holiday. Remember to take note!
Coober Pedy, SA
Coober Pedy is a mining town, about 868 km north of Adelaide. Mining has been active around the area for more than 100 years. Opal can be found here. There are plenty of opal shops in town and you can either buy or find an opal yourself. Some opals cost more than $1000 dollars. There are plenty of camp sites in town. The settlement is accessible by the Stuart Highway from anywhere between Adelaide & Darwin. It is best to come here in winter, when it's not very hot.
Grampians National Park, VIC
The Grampians National Park is approximatively 235 km west of Melbourne. Halls Gap is the nearest town, where campers most prefer to stay. There is plenty to see including Lake Bellfield, McKenzie Falls and Boroka Lookout. Mt. William is the tallest mountain in the Grampians. If you do visit, make sure to bring your camera, because the views can be excellent!

Kununurra, WA
Kununurra is a small settlement 35 km from the WA/NT border and located in the Kimberly region. It only has a popluation of about 5,000 people, though this grows due to the number of visitors each year. Nearby Lake Argyle is the largest freshwater lake in Australia. Lots of people tend to visit this during the dry season (April-October) It is located 3,040 kilometres from the state's capital, Perth. Kununurra is also home to Hidden Valley National Park, also known as the " Mini Bungle-Bungles "
Broome, WA
Also located in the Kimberly region, Broome is a pearl mining township located on Western Australia's North-West coast. Pearls are most commonly found here. The high-quality pearls are the most expensive to buy. Cable Beach is a popular destination for tourists. Camel rides operate daily along the beach. Malcolm Douglas' crocodile park is located 16km from Broome towards Derby. Many visitors visit Broome every year.
Alice Springs, NT
Located in Central Australia, Alice Springs is a must-stop town for tourists. The most popluar attractions are the Royal Flying Doctor Service, School of the Air, the Alice Springs Telegraph Station and the actual springs that gave the town its name. Alice Springs runs next to the Todd River, which is very dry. It gets very hot during the summer, with temp reaching 40 degrees. Alice Springs is surrounded by small desert communities, but most live in Alice Springs.
Cairns, QLD
Cairns is a regional city about 1,700 km from Brisbane and 2,420 km from Sydney by road. It's about 52km from north to south. Cairns is well known for it's wonderful beaches and it's rainforest's. It has a tropical climate, so it's pretty hot in the warmer months. Flights operate daily to and from other parts of the country, so getting here by air and by car is a breeze. It's probably easier to go to Cairns during the colder months, as Cairns does suffer from flooding during the wet season.
